ARKzip Testing – Through high demand our ARKzip system is currently subjected to further testing in our aim to provide high quality external metal envelope solutions. The results will be compiled along with other testing and investigations as we develop the systems ready for third party Agrément, more coming soon…

Coming soon – Ark Sinusoidal profile, available in a range of materials and finishes. ARK sinusoidal will also be available in both straight sheets and smooth curved to ensure the system is tailored to meet the clients vision.

Ark Profiles is supplying the standing seam roofs and Alucobond rainscreen cladding to two new LIDL stores, Merthyr Tydfil and Pontypool. This follows on from the completion of LIDL Llanishen earlier in 2015.

Ark Profiles has supplied RAL9006 aluminium ArkZip 65/400 to the new LIDL store at Merthyr.

The installer had the ArkLiner installed, and sealed as the vcl and air barrier. Arkliner provides a working platform and initial weather tightness so that work can continue within the shell). The spacer system was installed.

In spite of the weather (again!), 2000m2 of ArkZip were manufactured at eaves level in one day with the final lowering of the onsite rolling machine taking place as evening arrived.

The spacer system and halters were installed and ready, with gaps where ArkZip bundles were to be positioned.

In spite of the weather, 1650m2 of ArkZip were manufactured at eaves level in one day.

The ArkZip sheets were then installed, also in one day.

Ark Profiles has introduced three levels of guarantee, Ark Silver, Ark Silver Plus and Ark Gold.

Ark Silver gives reassurance about the conformance and quality of materials supplied by Ark Profiles.

This can be backed up by independent site inspections and insurance using Ark Silver Plus and Ark Gold.

All aluminium flashings will undergo thermal expansion and contraction due to temperature changes.

Ark Profiles has published guidance on the installation of aluminium flashings on Arkzip roofs to accommodate and manage the thermal movement effects without the need for slotted or over size holes within the roof detailing. The data sheet (number 54) is within the technical resource section under “Technical” and also within the “ArkZip Profiles, Components & Installation” drawings

A new section “Drawings” has been added to the Technical Resources page.

The PDF format drawings have been split into three sections, “ArkZip Details”; “ArkZip Profiles, Components & Installation” and “ArkZip Systems”

• ArkZip Details contains typical construction details.

• ArkZip Profiles, Components & Installation contains drawings related to components and installation, including the installation of aluminium flashings in relation to thermal movement.

• ArkZip Systems contains typical ArkZip system build-ups

AutoCad drawings will follow, including dynamic blocks to assist a project designer and make bespoke details easier to create.

The new build stores in Merthyr Tydfil and Pontypool consist overall of 4500m2 RAL9006 aluminium ArkZip in insulated twin skin mono pitch roofs plus 1400m2 Ark Alucobond ACM rain screen cladding.

The refurbishment project in Blackpool consists of 110m2 Ark Alucobond ACM rain screen cladding.

Ark Profiles has an on-going project to add construction details to the web site.
The first arrivals are pdf versions of a few common constructions and will continue to be added to the website as drawings are approved for release.
